Presidential Protest: Seniors Gathering In Brookline
The peaceful rally is taking place in Coolidge Corner.

BROOKLINE, MA — Residents are planning to gather at Coolidge Corner this Saturday for a peaceful protest demonstration against President Donald Trump and his administration.
The event, called Speak Out, Seniors! Stand Out/Sit Out for Democracy will begin at 2 p.m. on the corner of Beacon and Harvard Streets. The gathering is specifically meant for senior citizens, however all ages are invited to participate.
“Let’s stand up for many things: immigrant rights and human rights; free speech, the Constitution and the rule of law; healthcare and social security; and the health of our planet,” Speak Out, Seniors said in a statement. “We stand for peace and an end to the devastating wars in Gaza and Ukraine. We stand up for democracy, justice, and the future we want to leave to the next generation.”

Some of the actions taken by the Trump administration that have directly impacted Massachusetts include the detainment of Tufts Graduate student Rumesya Ozturk earlier this year by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as financial punishments placed on Harvard University in the midst of an ideological battle between the President and University.
