BROOKLINE, MA — Police respond to dozens of emergency calls each day. The following reports are taken from the public police log, the Brookline Police blog and from Brookline Police arrest reports. It's important to note that just because someone reports an incident to police doesn't mean that's the way it happened.

Wednesday, May 8

Well being check: Police arrested Jason Schell, 42, of Nantucket and charged him with possession of a class E drug. Police said they were called to check on a man who was talking to himself on Beacon Street for several hours. When police arrived they asked him for his ID, but he became confrontational. After police assured him they were there for a well being check, he gave them his license, which police used to check to see if there were any warrants for his arrest. Turned out he had just been issued a default warrant out of Falmouth District Court the day before for OUI Drugs and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Police arrested and handcuffed him where they found six pills on him.

No license: Police arrested Joao Siqueira, 37, of Everett, and charged him with not being licensed to drive. Police said they saw his green Toyota Corolla on Harvard and after they ran the plates through the system saw that the owner was not licensed to drive. Police said had been stopped in 2015, 2016 and 2018 for the same thing.
