Weekend Police Log: Cat Attacks Real Estate Agent, Dogs Terrorize Homeowner

The following incident report is based on Brookline Police Department dispatch logs for Friday, Sept. 10, through Sunday, Sept. 12. Look for weekday incident reports each Saturday and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch.

- A real estate agent was reportedly attacked by a cat during an open house on the 1400 block of Beacon Street on Sept. 12. Someone who had come to see the apartment called police and told dispatchers that the real estate agent was "bleeding and crying."
- Someone called police on Sept. 12 to report that an elderly woman wearing jeans and a black leather jacket had hit them in the knee with a plastic bag in Coolidge Corner. Police responding to the call reported that the complaint was the result of a "misunderstanding."
- A Heath Street resident reported that two big dogs in her backyard had "chased her back into her house" early on Sept. 12. The resident told dispatchers one of the dogs, a big black one, was drooling.
- An injured squirrel was spotted on a Kenwood Street sidewalk around 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 12.
- Police received a report of raccoons on a roof on Cypress Street early on Sept. 10.
- A mother called police around 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 to report that her son's cell phone had been stolen from him at the Pierce Playground a few minutes earlier.
- A watch worth $1,500 was reported stolen from a Euston Road home on Sept. 11. The caller said the thief probably stole it while they were away a week earlier and could have gained entry to the home through an open window.
- Someone reported that they forgot their bag, which had a cell phone in it, at Warren Field and came back to find it gone.
- A High Street told police a package had been stolen from her building.
- A bike was reported stolen from a home on Carlton Street.
- Someone reported losing a black men's tri-fold wallet between the Yawkey Family Inn and Children's Hospital on the morning of Sept. 12. The wallet reportedly contained a driver's license, insurance card, debit card and $350 cash.
- A man reported that white Mercedes struck his scooter on Beacon Street around 10 a.m. on Sept. 10.
- Someone reported hearing eight guns shots coming from around the Putterham Rotary around 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 11. Responding officers reported hearing the noise as well and said it could be from fireworks.
- A Boylston Street resident called police on Sept. 11 to complain that someone in a neighboring apartment had shut off their utilities and ask for a police officer to escort them to the basement. Police reported that power was restored and the dispute resolved—"for now."
