$10K Reward For Info On 2019 Danehy Park Murder
The family of a man beaten to death nearly two years ago in Cambridge is offering $10,000 for information leading to an arrest.

CAMBRIDGE, MA – The family of a man beaten to death nearly two years ago in Danehy Park is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the person or people responsible, the Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Branville Bard said Thursday.
Around 6:46 p.m. Jan. 2, 2019 at least one person called Cambridge Police to report they found a man on the ground inside Danehy Park along the entrance to the park on the New Street side under a bright light.
When police got there, they found an unconscious man, later identified as Paul Wilson, with what appeared to be a serious head trauma along the path near a light. He was visible from the parking lot wearing a pair of shorts, a red winter coat, a winter hat and gloves. EMS rushed him to Beth Israel Hospital, but he was pronounced dead hours later.

Officials said the cause of death was blunt force trauma. They said robbery is not likely a motive, because he was found with several possessions.
Investigators, who are treating the investigation as a homicide, said they have no reason not to believe this was random. They also said they believe the attack happened where they found Wilson. It's unclear how or why a man as tall and as healthy as Wilson, who was 6'6'' tall, could have been killed, or if there were any signs he fought back.

Investigators said they determined that on the day of the attack, Wilson took a Blue Bike to and from work at IBM. He came home from work by arriving at Porter MBTA Station and rode a Blue Bike home and parked it by his house on Sherman Street before walking through the park.
"We're quite distressed," said neighbor Sabina Duborg after a community meeting in 2019. "The gentleman was 6'6. At 6'O'clock in the evening. How does that happen? It's a mystery to all of us. We'll just have to keep our eyes open, post posters and hopefully someone will come forward. It's terrible. It's really terrible."
