Cambridge Police Make Central Square Drug And Firearm Arrest
The charges piled up as the person was confronted by police in a nearby business.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — The police department made an arrest in Central Square on Monday on drug and firearm possession charges.
Brandon Gregory, 40, of Roxbury has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and suspected crack cocaine after police responded to a business at approximately 9:30 a.m. after receiving a report of multiple people smoking marijuana in the basement and refusing to leave. The two people were identified as Gregory and 34-year-old Miriam Piquant. According to police, Piquant had an active arrest warrant out of Boston and was reportedly taken in without incident. However, Gregory provided officers with multiple false names and was unable to provide an explanation as to why he was in the building when he was confronted. After trying to detain him ,Gregory reportedly resisted and attempted to escape. While trying to flee, police say he briefly drew a firearm with an extended magazine and pointed it at one officer.
After finally being placed under arrest, police discovered a bag containing a white, rock-like substance that it believes is crack cocaine.
