CAMBRIDGE, MA — Police arrested a Boston man after a brief struggle and charged him in connection with exposing himself on the Red Line and calling police homophobic slurs.

A passenger on a train called police April 9, to report a man was committing a lewd act on the Red Line. When transit police officers met the train at MBTA's Kendall station the reporting party pointed out a man, later identified as Adam Smith, 48, of Boston and said Smith was committing a lewd act with his genitals fully exposed to everyone on the train.

Officers approached Smith who was still seated on the train at this time and smoking a cigarette. Officers requested Smith to get off the train, but he did not immediately listen, according to police.
