Truck Tries And Fails To Drive Under Memorial Drive Footbridge
The driver of a crane tried, and failed to drive under the footbridge that crosses Memorial Drive near Magazine Beach.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — The top of a crane truck was damaged and Memorial Drive traffic was impacted for several hours Wednesday morning, after the truck driver failed an attempt to tried drive under the footbridge near the corner of Magazine Street.
According to a passerby it doesn't appear that the truck caused any cosmetic damage to the bridge.
It's not the first time someone has "storrowed" there. For those unfamiliar with the term, "storrowed" is what residents call what happens when someone drives a box truck onto Storrow Drive in Boston, despite the signs on the on-ramps indicating height restrictions. The term has been broadened to include trucks getting stuck under any bridge in the area.
