CAMBRIDGE, MA — President Donald Trump and his administration blocked Harvard University from enrolling international students Thursday, according to a report from The New York Times.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem described the most recent restriction placed on the University as holding it accountable for “fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party on its campus.”

Earlier this year, Trump gave Harvard a list of demands that included closing its diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, implementing a mask ban and adopting merit-based admissions and hiring policies. When the University refused to make changes, Trump froze $2.2 billion worth of multi-year federal grants and contracts from the school. Earlier this month, Trump announced he would be stopping all federal research grants from Harvard.
