The Canton and Randolph softball teams played Saturday in a double header.
Although the games count toward league standings, the community used the opportunity to raise money for charity.

The Canton players, parents and alumni sold food and drink donated by the community and the players made baked goods.
The efforts raised several hundreds of dollars for two charities: "Cops for Kids with Cancer" and Project Bread, which supports food pantries throughout the state.

Canton won both games, 14-to-2 and 12-to-0.
Highlights included a triple for senior captain Cady Kelly and a homerun for freshman Sammy Devane. In her first Varsity start as a pitcher, Junior Sam Sullivan pitched a no-hitter and struck out 10 in the 12-to-0 win.
Although pleased with the two wins, Coach Edward Amico says he was most proud of how the team came together for two great causes.
"They solicited all the donations, made posters and signs and made special shirts and socks for the game," said Amico. "They are a wonderful group of girls who realize that they have the ability to make a difference on the field, but more importantly off the field."
