Dear Canton Families and Staff,
Canton COVID-19 Protocols
Find out what's happening in Cantonfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
I am very pleased to share the Canton Public Schools Covid-19 Protocols, which were approved by the Canton School Committee last night. As a school community, we were working with the ever-evolving Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) / Department of Public Health (DPH) COVID-19 Response protocols, while also collaborating with local safety officials and our school doctor.
We appreciate your patience and understanding around this work. Thank you to Nurse Leader Lauren Pushard and the Canton Nursing Team for synthesizing this document, which features strong alignment to the DESE/DPH protocols and bolsters our commitment to overall safety and the continuity of in-person learning.
You can access the CPS COVID-19 Protocols by clicking this LINK or by visiting our CPS website. Next week, we will be sending specific information regarding the support of learning for a child who is positive and must quarantine, and other scenarios to consider.
If you have any questions regarding the CPS COVID-19 Protocols, please email pushardl@cantonma.org.
Testing Options
As reminder, to participate in and provide consent for the Testing Options outlined in the CPS COVID-19 Protocols, please click on the CIC link for the general consent and then click on the Google Form link to identify which Testing Options you want. As a District, we highly encourage participation in all three Testing Options as a community commitment to keep COVID-19 out of our schools. We appreciate the hundreds of responses we have received thus far.
COVID-19 and Flu Vaccine Clinics
The Canton Board of Health is running several COVID-19 vaccination clinics for individuals 12 years old and over, while offering Flu Vaccine Clinics as well. Local safety officials and medical experts highly recommend the vaccines as a key mitigation strategy. Please see all dates below.
This year, the state is using a program called COLOR to schedule vaccination clinics. There is only one link that individuals use to sign up for any clinic. As additional clinics are added, they will appear on this link.
https://home.color.com/vaccine/register/canton
Although the COLOR website gives the Board of Health address as the address for each clinic, please keep in mind that there are no clinics currently scheduled at the BOH office address. All locations are listed below at the end of this email.
Please sign up for the 9/29 and 10/3 COVID vaccination clinics or the 10/5 Flu clinic using the link above.
Pre-registration for COVID vaccination is strongly encouraged. Walk-ins will be welcome as supplies are available.
There will have both Moderna and Pfizer available at the three COVID clinics
Individuals 16 years of age and older are eligible to receive Moderna or Pfizer
Individuals 12 years of age and older are eligible to receive Pfizer
Parental permission is required for individuals under 18 years of age. The permission form is embedded in the registration process.
