Dunkin' Retiring Iconic Sweet Coffee Drink

"There's always the chance for its return in the future," a Dunkin' executive said in announcing the drink's demise.

CANTON, MA — A drink unique to Dunkin' will soon disappear, possibly for good.

An executive with the Canton-based company confirmed to the TODAY show that the Dunkaccino, according to NBC.

"The Dunkaccino is retired for now, but there’s always the chance for its return in the future," a spokesperson told the show.

The Dunkaccino combined the best of both worlds: hot chocolate and coffee.

"Our Dunkaccino, with its unique blend of coffee and hot chocolate flavors, is the perfect treat to warm you up. Drink as is, or add extra indulgence with delicious whipped cream," the company describes on its website.

The company did not say exactly why the drink was being retired, just that it was "an effort to deliver a fast, frictionless experience." The drink debuted in 2000, and was made infamous is a commercial several years ago where Al Pacino rapped about it.

"Say hello to my chocolate blend," he said, a reference to his famous line from "Scarface."
