• Canton Select Board chooses Michael Daniels as new police chief (nbcboston.com) — Canton’s Select Board has unanimously chosen Michael Daniels as the town’s new permanent police chief, ending a leadership gap since Helena Rafferty’s retirement in June. Daniels arrives from Oxford after a turbulent period for the Canton Police Department, which drew intense scrutiny during the high-profile Karen Read case and has been led recently by interim chief Joseph Perkins.
