Suspects Plead Not Guilty in Shooting Death of 20-Year-Old Boston Man

Three suspects are accused in the murder of 20-year-old Jean Louis after allegedly opening fire on his car back on July 11 in Boston.

Three suspects accused of fatally shooting a 20-year-old Boston man in July have pleaded not guilty, the Suffolk County DA’s office reports.

Tyshawn Pereira, 21, Michael Johnson-McNeil, 20, and Bobby Robinson-Gilmere, 21, all from Boston, were arraigned Monday on armed assault with intent to murder charges, among other offenses.

On July 11, prosecutors say Pereira, who’s also facing a murder charge, fired shots at a car in which victim Jean Louis was sitting in on Bailey Street in Boston. Louis suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and was later pronounced dead. A 16-year-old who was also in the car was injured, but managed to survive the shooting.

Johnson-McNeil and Robinson-Gilmere were also charged with being accessories after the fact to murder. Prosecutors say the two men are linked to two cars that were at the scene of the shooting. Both men allegedly admitted to driving the cars on the night of the murder.

At the request of Assistant District Attorney Catherine Ham, Judge Jonathan Tynes ordered Pereira held without bail pending trial. Tynes also ordered Johnson-McNeil held without bail until Sept. 23, and Robinson-Gilmere held on $250,000 cash bail.
