Concord Elections 2020: Johnson Wins Select Board

Just over 17 percent of registered voters hit the polls on Thursday.

CONCORD, MA — Concord's Annual Town Election on Thursday saw just over 17 percent of registered voters cast their ballots. Physical polling places were still open despite coronavirus fears, but masks and social distancing were required.

Four races were on the ballot but only two were contested.

In the race for Select Board Matthew Ward Johnson and Henry J. Dane ran for the one seat which is a three-year term. Johnson won the race with 1,618 votes. Dane earned 731 votes.

One of the races for School Committee was contested with Fatima Mezdad and Maribeth Ann Cusick competing for the three-year seat. Mezdad won the seat, earning 1,335. Cusick earned 847 votes.
