A blueberry pancake breakfast, followed by a blueberry pie-eating contest, was held Saturday, July 20 at Verrill Farm in Concord.

Through the heat and the haze they came for blueberry pancakes and blueberry pies.

The occasion was the Blueberry Pancake Breakfast and pie-eating contest held Saturday, July 20 at Verrill Farm in Concord. Families and foodies filled picnic tables packed beneath tents, which provided a bit of relief from the heatwave that stretched all the way to the weekend. The Yankee Stompers band provided the soundtrack for the morning.

A breakfast of blueberry pancakes, sausages and bacon was served at 9 a.m., with a blueberry pie-eating contest that followed at about 11:15 a.m. Click through the photos above for some scenes from breakfast.
