Monday Essentials: Selectmen Meet, a Concert and a Book Launch
Here's the scoop on what's happening around Concord this week.

1. Selectmen Meet Monday Night: Following an executive session at 6:30 p.m., the Board of Selectmen will reconvene in open session and the agenda includes an udate on the McGrath property acquisition, a discussion regarding Sunday Town Meeting in 2014, an update on discussion of Need for Second Ambulance to be located in West Concord and more.
2. Summer Workshops: Dabblers hobby shop and cafe in West Concord will be hosting summer workshops all week, beginning with building a butterfly house at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22, which can be painted at 11 a.m. the following day.
3. Southern Rail Concert: New England’s premier Bluegrass Band, will give
a concert on the front lawn of the Concord Free Public Library at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24.
4. Concord Assembly Seeking New Members: Concord Assembly, a youth group for girls ages 11 to 20, is actively recruiting new members interested in building community service resumes, having fun, learning public speaking skills, and making life-long friends. 5. Book Launch -- Animal Stories: Barefoot Books will celebrate the launch of not one, but two new books by Lari Don -- The Hungry Wolf and Masha and the Bear -- with a day of fun activities beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27.
