Police Log: Trespassing Turtles, Suspicious Persons and More

The following was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, June 19

8:42 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Belknap and Elsinore streets.

9:06 a.m. – Police responded to a report of an alarm sounding in the area of Deacon Haynes Road and Old Marlboro roads. There were no apparent emergencies; just a system malfunction, according to the incident report.

9:26 a.m. – An Old Marlboro Road resident requested advice from animal control regarding a large turtle in her yard.

9:52 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious man in a business suit trying to contact residents on Laws Brook Road. The responding officers reported the man in question was a resident of Warner Woods, who was locked out of his home.

10:36 a.m. – A Weston man came into the police station to report his son lost his black leather wallet the previous night at the Concord-Carlisle High School fields.

2:12 p.m. – An officer was flagged down for a report of a minor motor vehicle collision in the Keyes Road municipal lot.

4:08 p.m. – A 911 call came in reporting a motor vehicle accident in the are of Cambridge Turnpike and Lexington Road.

5:16 p.m. – An Old Marlboro Road resident reported a suspicious person came to her home asking for money. She described the man as about 5’6” and well dressed, walking toward Nine Acre Corner. The responding officer checked the area to the Sudbury line, but was unable to locate the man in question.

6:36 p.m. – A Plainfield Road resident reported a man in jean shorts had been pacing in front of her neighbor’s home, and apparently talking to himself, for the past two hours. The responding officer reported there were people in the area with a moving company and were walking back and forth to check out a driveway as a tractor trailer unit was stuck and requiring a tow.

11:26 p.m. – A Pilgrim Road resident reported a dog barking in the Meriam Road area for more than an hour. Police checked the area, and all was quiet t the time.
