As is the tradition at All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore on the first Saturday in October, we will celebrate St. Francis Day with our annual north shore community Blessing of the Animals, at our front steps and church green. The Blessing will take place Saturday, October 2, from 1 to 2:30 PM on the day that commemorates the life of St. Francis, who is the patron saint of animals and the environment.

Our annual blessing of animals reminds us that animals are gifts from God, and that humans are responsible for being good stewards of the earth and all its inhabitants.

On that day, we will also be collecting donations of pet food and other pet supplies for the People to People Food Pantry in Danvers, so please consider bringing a can or a bag to help people with food insecurities who also have hungry pets.

The Pet Food Task Force will be staffing a table at the front of the church during the event and will offer information on what we can do to help people with food insecurities for pets.

The Pet Food Task Force runs pop-up food collections throughout Massachusetts and is eager to welcome volunteers. So, if you are excited about helping pets in need; if you value the importance of pets for people’s well-being, and if you have time to help in their mission to ensure pet food security for those in need in your community --while making valuable connections with people in the nonprofit animal sheltering and food pantry fields -- what are you waiting for? Find out more at the Task Force table.
