Best Love Stories Compete for Dream Diamond Ring

What would you do for your love?

Would you race through blocks of ice in the middle of February to find the replica of a $20,000 diamond engagement ring?

If the answer is yes, in Danvers has a contest for you.

This Valentine's Day season, entrants will be expressing their love story in one hundred words or less, uploading a photo and optional video to Carter's Facebook page. The last day to submit your love story is Sunday, Jan. 29.

From there, the jewelers will select 24 hopefuls for the semi-finals, who will then compete to win the public's hearts. 

When the top five finalists with the most Facebook votes are announced, they will meet on Feb. 18 at Carter's Diamonds (150 Andover St.) and will race to melt a block of ice with a cubic zirconia in the center, using two hair dryers. The first couple to retrieve the cubic zirconia and run to the designated area to ring the Hearts on Fire bell will be declared the Grand Prize Winners. Kiss 108's Billy Costa will host the event.

The grand prize is a Transcend Dream diamond engagement ring valued at $20,000. Four runners up will receive a piece from Hearts On Fire’s fashion line of diamond jewelry valued at $1,750.
