Bob's Stores To Close 6 Remaining MA Clothing, Footwear Locations
The discount clothing and footwear chain's parent company said it will close the stores after failing to secure needed financing.

MIDDLETON, MA — The discount clothing and footwear chain of Bob's Stores will close the six remaining locations in Massachusetts this month after its parent company — GoDigital Media Sales Group — said it was unable to secure the necessary financing to restructure the business.
The liquidation will follow the Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring petition filed on June 18.
"We regret that our financial position necessitated the liquidation of Bob's Stores," Bob's Stores President Dave Barton said. "Bob's has been a stalwart of our local communities for nearly 70 years, and we know our customers remember us as having been there for major moments in their lives.

There are six remaining Massachusetts locations — Middleton, Attleboro, Fitchburg, Holyoke, Randolph and Westborough. There is also one New Hampshire location in Salem, nine Connecticut locations, and one Rhode Island location in Cranston.
The Fitchburg store had been advertising a "store remodeling" sale for months as part of a plan to sublet a portion of its footprint in the Twin City Shopping Plaza.
Select store fixtures, furniture, and equipment will also be available for sale.
The closures do not affect the Eastern Mountain Sports locations that had shared space with Bob's Stores brands.
Gift cards and merchandise credits will be honored through the close of business on July 14. All sales are final during the store closing event.
No returns will be accepted. Exchanges will be accepted through July 14.
