Boston Man Charged In Danvers Shooting: Police

One person was hospitalized with injuries suffered in the Bay Drive shooting.

DANVERS, MA — A Boston man was held pending a dangerousness hearing this week after being charged with armed assault in connection with a Danvers shooting on Thursday.

Danvers police said Juan Sales, 23, is facing several assault and gun charges, including assault and battery on a family member and aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, after they responded to reports of gunshots on Bay Drive.

Police said one victim was taken to Beverly Hospital and later transferred to a Boston hospital for additional care.

Sales was arraigned at Salem District Court on Friday and ordered held pending the dangerousness hearing set for Tuesday.

Peabody police and State Police detectives and ballistics teams assisted in the investigation.
