Chief Farrell Out of Jail, Back in Court Aug. 29

Danvers Fire Chief Kevin Farrell was arrested in Groveland on June 26 on domestic assault charges.

Danvers Fire Chief Kevin Farrell was released from jail and a stay at BayRidge Hospital in Lynn on personal recognizance, but his trial is set to begin next month, the Salem News reports

The 48-year-old Danvers Fire Chief was  following a  in Groveland.

Farrell, a Groveland resident, was held at Middleton Jail for the weekend following his arrest, until a placement at a mental health treatment facility was available, .

Farrell was back at Haverhill District Court on Tuesday, the Salem News reported, where a bench trial was scheduled for Aug. 29, according to Carrie Kimball Monahan, spokeswoman for District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.

For now Farrell is free on personal recognizance, with conditions that he comply with a treatment regimen recommended by doctors, according to the outlet.
