Officer Injured in Car Accident

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from the department log, Tuesday, Jan. 10 through Thursday, Jan. 12.

Tuesday, Jan. 10

  • At 8:43 p.m. a vehicle was reported broken into while parked at .
  • Threats at were reported to police at 10:22 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 11

  • A 33-year-old Salem man was placed in protective custody due to intoxication at 1:04 a.m. 
  • Police received notice of "three males acting suspicious" at the corner of Betsy's Way and Locust Street. Police did not locate the individuals.
  • A residence on Nichols Street reported a window had been shot with a BB gun at 5:33 p.m.
  • At 6:59 p.m. police arrested Emily Emerson, 17, of 202 Maple St., on charges of domestic assault and battery and resisting arrest.  
  • A vehicle was reported broken-into at at 7:30 p.m.
  • A domestic dispute was reported at 103 Newbury Street at 7:31 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 12

  • An attempted break-in was reported at 153 Andover St. at 10:05 a.m. They believe the incident occured sometime overnight. 
  • A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the parking lot at 12:06 p.m.
  • A cruiser was involved in a two-vehicle accident at Endicott and Sylvan Street at 5:40 p.m. Danvers Officer Justin Ellenton was brought to and sustained minor injuries. Both vehicles involved were towed from the scene. The situation remains under police investigation.
