Daniel Bennett, Gardner Trask Win Danvers Select Board Seats

The current Select Board Chair and former Select Board member were elected out of a crowded seven-person field.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers Select Board Chair Daniel Bennett and former Select Board member Gardner Trask were elected to the two open seats out of a seven-person field for Board positions during the annual town election held Tuesday night.

Trask was the leading vote-getter with 1,561 votes, followed by Bennett at 1,378.

Kevin Berich was third in the tally at 1,021, followed by Sandy Franceschini at 892, Mark Lentine at 592, Natalie Fiore at 394 and Michael Baxter at 162.

The Select Board race was one of two contested on the ballot, along with the election of town meeting members, with the other being the School Committee where Chair Gabe Lopes won re-election with 2,074 over challenger Maxwell Rudin at 740.
