Danvers Crash, Entrapment Closes Route 95 South During Monday Evening Rush

UPDATED 8:50 p.m.

DANVERS, MA — A major crash involving a tractor-trailer and a box truck closed Route 95 South in Danvers during the Monday evening commute.

The state Department of Transportation said the road was closed as of 6:45 p.m.

A MassDOT update said that two lanes had reopened as of 8 p.m. and that all lanes reopened as of 8:50 p.m.

According to multiple emergency services reports, the crash near Center Street involved a tractor-trailer unit and a box truck, with at least one of the drivers heavily trapped.

Danvers fire confirmed that the driver of the tractor-trailer was extricated with three people taken by ambulance to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Mutual aid companies are assisting with coverage in town while all Danvers companies and personnel are working this incident," Danvers fire said.
