• Funky NE Brunch Chain To Close Danvers Location, Seeking New North Shore Home (patch.com) — Danvers diners will soon lose a favorite brunch spot as The Friendly Toast prepares to close its Independence Way location on Dec. 31 because of mechanical issues in the building. The restaurant, which opened in 2021, says it’s still searching for a new North Shore space, has praised the support of the Danvers community, and is offering staff bonuses and transfers to other locations.
   

• Crack Cocaine, Fentanyl Seized In Danvers Drug Trafficking Bust: Police (patch.com) — Danvers residents are learning more about a three-month drug investigation that ended with a traffic stop in town and the seizure of significant amounts of crack cocaine and fentanyl. Coordinated by Danvers and neighboring police departments, the operation led to trafficking charges against a Bronx man and, according to police, reflects ongoing efforts to curb narcotics networks and protect the community.
