Danvers Declaration Of Independence Public Reading Set For July 4

The public is invited to take part in the 16th annual reading on Friday.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers residents are invited to take part in what has become a celebrated local tradition each year at the 16th annual public reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 4.

The reading will take place in the Rotary Pavilion at the Peabody Institute Library on Sylvan Street on Friday at 11 a.m.

This year's reading comes on the heels of the 250th Anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord and as preparations are being made for the nation's 250th Anniversary of Independence on July 4, 2026.
