Danvers Election 2020: Voters Will Choose New Selectman
Diane Langlais is not running for re-election after seven years on the Danvers Board of Selectmen.
DANVERS, MA — Three candidates will try to replace Danvers Selectman Diane Langlais, who is not seeking reelection, in the town's June 2 municipal election.
Matthew Duggan, Timothy Donahue, and Maureen Bernard all returned nomination papers to appear on the ballot for the open seat. There will also be contested races for town meeting member in precincts 2, 5 and 7.
Duggan is a town meeting member for Precint 1. Bernard is a vice president and senior loan officer for Salem Five Bank. She is a town meeting member and also sits on the Danvers housing board. Donahue runs a landscaping company.

Last month, selectmen unanimously approved delaying the annual election to June 2 from May 5 under authority granted from the state in an effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. Town meeting was also pushed back to June 15 from May 18.
