Danvers February Snow Emergency Parking Ban Declared
The parking ban is set to begin at 10 p.m. Thursday and extended until snow-removal operations are completed.

DANVERS, MA —A late February snowstorm forecast to bring up to 12 inches of snow to the North Shore will extend the delay in Danvers trash and recycling pickup into next week and trigger a snow emergency parking ban starting Thursday night.
The ban is to go into effect at 10 p.m. and continue until all town snow-removal operations are complete. The ban prohibits parking on public streets at any time.
The trash pickup delay, which was already in effect this week because of the Monday holiday, will now run through next Friday.

Residents who typically have their trash picked up on Thursday will now be picked up Saturday and those who have their trash picked up on Friday will have it collected on Monday.
There will be no trash and recycling pickup on Sunday. Trash will then be picked up on a one-day delay starting Tuesday through Friday.

The Danvers Public Library will also be closed on Friday.
A winter storm warning was issued everywhere but the South Shore and Cape Cod, which are under a winter storm watch, from 12 a.m. Friday to 12 a.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service says snow will start falling before dawn on Friday, gathering 1-2 inches per hour during the morning commute.
The latest forecasts from Thursday morning call for 8-12 inches of snow north of the Mass Pike, while precipitation will change to the wintry mix south of the highway.
While the snow will surely be a shock coming less than 48 hours after record-high temperatures soared to nearly 70 degrees on the North Shore, school vacation week will temper some of the upheavals that go along with a significant winter storm.
