Danvers Library Closing For Two Weeks
The Peabody Institute Library of Danvers needs to repair damage from a sprinkler activation in August.
DANVERS, MA — The Peabody Institute Library of Danvers will be closed from Oct. 5 to Oct. 22 so workers can complete repairs on damage from an accidental sprinkler activation in August. Items can still be returned at book drops outside the library, and patrons can access materials through other libraries in the NOBLE network, The library will not charge late fees during the closure.
The library was closed for more than a week in August after the sprinkler went off near the circulation desk. Most of the library's collection was spared by the accidental activation, but the clean-up effort was extensive, officials said.
