Danvers Lifts Snow Parking Ban, Seeks Help Ahead Of Next Storm
The Department of Public Works is asking residents, if able, to clear snow and ice from catch basins located in their vicinity.

DANVERS, MA — The Danvers Department of Public Works lifted the snow emergency parking ban Monday morning — about 36 hours after it was first declared on Saturday night.
The parking ban was extended Sunday as areas just away from the coast got a good thumping of snow from the storm that brought as many as 18-plus inches in inland communities. The National Weather Service said an official spotter in Danvers reported 9 inches of snow as of Sunday night at 9 p.m.
The end of the storm and the completion of most plowing does not mean any rest for the Department of Public Works, however, with a race to clear storm drains before a heavy dose of rain and wind threaten to overwhelm low-lying areas on Tuesday night into Wednesday.
