Danvers Nurse Charged With Assaulting Blind, Non-Verbal Patient: Report

NBC Boston said Cynthia Beck faces more than 30 charges in the May 18 assault on a 27-year-old woman with cerebral palsy.

DANVERS, MA — A Danvers nurse, whose license has been suspended by the state pending patient assault accusations, is facing more than 30 charges connected to the assault of a 27-year-old non-verbal and blind woman who suffers from cerebral palsy, according to NBC10 Boston.

The station reported that Essex County prosecutors said the woman was caught on a home security camera hitting the woman in the chest, lifting the victim by the neck, flicking her fingers in the victim's face and abruptly lifting the victim's leg, according to court records.

Northeast Arc CEO Jo Ann Simons told the station that it fired Beck, who was arrested on May 23.
