DANVERS PLEADS ENVIRONMENTAL Relief from BEVERLY AIRPORT

DANVERS RESIDENTS CONTINUE TO PLEAD THEIR CASE

WITH THE BEVERLY AIRPORT COMMISSION – WITHOUT SUCCESS

A Plea from the Residents of Danvers at the March 10th 2025 Beverly Airport Commissioners Meeting was again heard (and ignored) by BVY (Beverly Airport Commissioners). Currently, only one of the commissioners is representing Danvers Residents. Danvers should have four!

At their Public Comment Period the Residents were permitted and limited to only the standard three minutes to present the following statement:

We the Residents of Danvers, in order to ensure our Community remains focused on resident wellbeing, quality of life, and individual as well as environmental health, do hereby propose the following considerations be made with regard to the operation of Beverly Airport:

The residents have placed the following Appeals, for action since (August 12th, 2024) at the Airport Commissioners Monthly Meetings) without even an acknowledgement or a, " Yes we Hear you".

The Appeals are made on behalf of the abutting and affected residents. All of Danvers is affected and now due to expanded jet traffic schedules we have become an abutting community from all precincts to this airport.

To date the pleas have been filed in the waste basket by the airport commission.

Therefore here are the Appeals are repeated Again!

1. Appeal is hereby made to revoke the current lease for the planned West side jet hanger for Flight Level Aviation - (300ft long x 147ft wide x 47ft tall) and the expanded JET PORT, runways and taxiways. There is an Appeal pending with the MEPA.

2. Appeal is hereby made to incorporate, in the current and future leases, a stipulation for abatement of Environmental and health impacts affecting the surrounding communities.

3. Appeal is hereby made to re-evaluate the Master Plan for the environmental impacts which are an expansionary and direct attack on quality of life and on our children’s lives.

4. Danvers Town Meeting voted to request BVY to perform, conduct and embark on an Environmental Impact / Protection Report to assess the current and future environmental impacts from planned facilities and runway expansions at Beverly Airport.

5. Danvers residents' Appeal for equitable representation at the BVY commission organization. Danvers deserves 4 of the 9 seats on the commission, based on the land area ratio occupied at the Danvers, west side of the airport and the value of the forgiven real estate taxes each year is equivalent to “Taxation without Representation”. Let Fairness prevail.

As customary the commission graciously accepted these Public Comments, without even an acknowledgement. This attitude has continued for years, with no response coming or anticipated.

The residents of Beverly, Wenham and Danvers deserve better.
