Danvers Police To Conduct Alcohol-Compliance Checks

All town businesses that serve liquor should expect a compliance check sometime in the next couple of weeks.

DANVERS, MA — All Danvers businesses that hold a liquor license and serve alcohol are advised that police will be conducting compliance checks over the next few weeks to help ensure that underage consumers are not served.

Danvers police said the compliance checks are part of the town of Danvers' continued efforts to prevent problems related to underage alcohol consumption, curb alcohol abuse, and reduce operating under the influence incidents involving teenagers.

During the compliance checks, underage operatives working under the supervision of the Danvers Police Department will attempt to purchase alcohol to determine whether establishments are properly verifying age and identification prior to service.
