Danvers Returns to Normal Outdoor Water Restrictions
This level normally runs from October 1 through April 30.

Danvers moved on Monday to Level 1 from Level 4 water restrictions. Level 4 water restrictions have been in effect since May.
Level 1 means normal winter conditions of the town’s outdoor water use restrictions policy. This means that there are no longer water restrictions in place. This level normally runs from October 1 through April 30.
Town officials would like to thank residents for following these water restrictions to help conserve water.

These water restrictions were instituted when the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection mandated regulations as part of theWater Management Act, due to growing concerns of highly stressed river basins. Danvers is one of several communities in the Ipswich River basin which is a stressed water basin that prompted these new regulations. DEP regulations include a summer cap, which runs from May 1 through October 1, restricting Town use to 3.8 million gallons per day on a yearly average.
If you have any questions on the water restrictions, call the Department of Public Works at 978-777-0001 x3011.
