Danvers Rollover Crash Shuts Down Route 95 For Medflight

Lanes in both directions of Route 95 in Danvers were shut down during the Tuesday morning commute with traffic detoured off the highway.

UPDATE 9:45 a.m.

DANVERS, MA — Highway traffic was shut down in both directions on Route 95 in Danvers Tuesday morning after a rollover crash with serious injuries.

The state Department of Transportation said all lanes on Route 95 northbound were shut down for Medflight and crash operations, while travel lanes were taken on Route 95 southbound and the entire highway was briefly closed for the Medflight landing and takeoff. The crash occurred near Route 62.

Video from WFXT-TV showed a jeep had rolled over with the station reporting that the Jeep's driver was taken to the hospital via helicopter.

MassDOT warned of long delays throughout Tuesday morning.

WBZ-AM reported that the crash scene was cleared and the detour removed as of about 9:30 a.m. Traffic was then getting by in both directions but heavy residual delays had cars backed up about 25 miles to Lexington going northbound.
