Peabody Man Hospitalized After Danvers Route 1 Crash Thursday Morning
UPDATE: The state Department of Transportation said at about 10:45 a.m. that northbound lanes of Route 1 near Route 62 were closed.

DANVERS, MA — A 34-year-old Peabody man suffered serious injuries on Thursday morning when the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV veered off the road near Route 62, struck a telephone pole and then crashed into a tree, according to State Police.
State Police said the man was driving on Route 1 northbound and went off the road about a half mile before Route 62.
The driver was taken to Beverly Hospital and then to Lahey Hospital in Burlington.

Route 1 northbound lanes in Danvers were closed Thursday morning to investigate the crash and clear the scene. The road fully reopened at about 11:43 a.m.
It was not clear Thursday morning whether the crash was related to the wintry mix of rain, sleet, snow and wind battering the state Wednesday and Thursday.
