Danvers Schools Closed Friday With Icy Expectations

Danvers Public Schools made the call on no school Friday early Thursday night.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers Public Schools are closed Friday because of the latest winter storm.

"Danvers Public Schools will be closed on Friday, February 4th due to the timing of the incoming storm and the forecasted flash freeze and freezing rain," Danvers Public Schools said Thursday night.

The National Weather Service forecast for the Boston area Friday calls for freezing rain before 9 a.m., then freezing rain and sleet between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., then sleet after 10
a.m.

The temperature will fall to around 21 degrees at 4 p.m.

The chance of precipitation is 100 percent with sleet accumulation of up to one inch.
