Danvers Sets Earth Day Townwide Cleanup Event For April

Individuals, groups and organizations are sought to help the town pick up from a messy winter season.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers civic organizations, school groups, youth leagues and individuals are sought to take part in the fourth annual townwide cleanup day to help celebrate Earth Day.

The cleanup event from the messy winter is set for April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Those participating will help to beautify the town, promote proper disposal practices, and help to combat the effects littering has on the environment.

Last year there were more than 250 volunteers who participated and 35 sites around town were cleaned. Over 2,000 pounds of litter were collected with hopes of beating that number this year.

  • Organize your group (or plan to go solo), then choose a town-owned area of special interest to you. Popes Landing, Sandy Beach, and John George Park to name a few.
  • Sign up, on the town website here.

Danvers DPW will provide supplies, including gloves and bags.

Those not available on April 26 can still participate. Send an email to danverscleanup@danversma.gov expressing your interest in participating.DPW staff will complete the cleanup by April 28, by collecting all garbage bags and large debris at designated pickup locations.
