Danvers Student Earns MelroseWakefield Hospital Scholarship
Danvers High alumnus and North Shore CC student Emilio Abad was awarded the $1,000 scholarship for his volunteer efforts.
DANVERS, MA — Danvers High alumnus and current North Shore Community College student Emilio Abad earned a $1,000 MelroseWakefield Hospital scholarship for his volunteer efforts during a senior internship.
The scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the hospital's VolunTeens program for their commitment to the overall health of the community.
"Emilio displayed a level of professionalism typically seen in seasoned healthcare workers, along with a positive attitude and eagerness that enhanced the experience for both patients and staff," said Joe McGuiggan, Manager of the Volunteer Program at MelroseWakefield Hospital.

Abad is studying Health Sciences as he prepares to apply to nursing school.
