DanversCARES Hosts 9th Annual Light the Night Purple on May 7

A Community Walk for Hope and Recovery

DanversCARES invites the public to the 9th Annual Light the Night Purple on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 6:30 PM at the Rotary Pavilion at the Peabody Institute Library, located in downtown Danvers.

This free, family-friendly community walk and gathering aims to raise awareness about substance use prevention and treatment, celebrate recovery, and promote hope and healing.

The evening begins at 6:30 PM with games, activity stations, snacks, community resource tables, and free purple t-shirts (while supplies last). The one-mile walk through Danvers kicks off at 7:00 PM, starting and ending at the Library. The walk will follow a route along Elm Street, High Street, through Danvers Square, onto the Rail Trail along Hobart Street, and return to the Library.

At 7:30 PM, participants will gather for music, guest speakers, and a shared moment of reflection. The evening will conclude at approximately 8:00 PM with a moving luminary lighting ceremony to light the night purple in honor of recovery and hope.

Free & Open to All!
No registration required. All are welcome to walk, listen, and stand together in support of recovery.
Parking is available at the municipal lot next to Danvers Town Hall.
