The Circus Is In Town: The Hamid-Morton circus, sponsored by the Aleppo Temple Shrine was at the Twin-rinks. At the time the Shriners were the second largest Circus producers in the country.

The Sack Gets Approved: Sack Theaters got the approval from the Board of Selectmen to make two movie theaters out of its current one at the . The problem of x-rated films being shown at the movie theater was noted by Selectmen, but after hearing from Town Counsel, who said "it would be unconstitutional for the Board of SElectmen to refuse to issue a license based on the fact that they suspect the Sack Theaters would show x-rated films," the proposal passed 3-2. 

Welcome to the Real World, Class of '76: "Start picking up those pieces," was the advice from a Danvers resident in a Letter to the Editor to graduates. "It may not be 1929, but it's close," the writer stated, noting that jobs were scarce, and if you were lucky you might be able to attend a college in the fall. Still, he said times have been worse, and even the most pessimistic of economists agree that a steady upswing was taking place. 

Police News: Vandals hit the Holten-Richmond Junior High School on a Saturday morning, causing about $2,000 in damage. The only items stolen, however, were about $60 worth of items from the school's vending machine.
