If you’re frustrated with the red light situation in Danvers, you are in good company.

While stop lights are one of the necessary evils of commuting, they don’t guarantee safety for pedestrians or cooperation from drivers.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, red-light running is the number one cause of urban crashes. Furthermore in 2013, approximately 127,000 people were injured in red-light related accidents.

Here’s what readers said on social media:

  • "Seriously though too many at 128 and Elliot street and High St. Poorly designed."
  • "The re-do of the intersection, 128 at High Street and Purchase, is ridiculous. The lanes are not marked clearly, and people don't care, they cut off other people all the time trying to get over into the left lane for a purchase st. (Left hand) turn. Going the other direction, just as bad. Trying to go underneath the bridge and try to go left onto the 128 entrance, while oncoming traffic (from the port) is whizzing by, insane. I live near there and I do everything I can to avoid it. Terribly planned."
  • "Too many with bad placement, Elliot Street 128"
