Shut Up About Your Perfect Kid

What parent hasn’t imagined their child becoming an academic scholar or a star ballerina or baseball player? For most of us, however, watching our children grow is a process of letting go of the fantasies and learning to love the reality.

It’s a process all parents confront and ones that sisters, co-authors and speakers Gina Gallagher and Patricia Konjoian know well. Billed “The Shut Up Sisters”, these two highly imperfect sisters are mothers of children with disabilities who realized how to find the joy and humor in their children’s imperfections. Armed with Seinfeld-worthy schtick, they will discuss how imperfect children can transform parents’ lives revealing …

• How to love the reality of who your kid really is
• The silly ways parents judge their children
• How to see humor in your imperfect life
• How to brag about your imperfect reality

Gina and Patricia are award-winning writers and speakers. They have appeared at parenting conferences around the country, and on Boston and national television programs, including Fox 25 News and CNN. Additionally, they write a blog for Psychology Today, and won 2nd prize in a Monopoly beauty contest.
