Ex-Danvers Store Manager Sentenced In Child Rape Case

Darryl Moore, 39, of Rowley, managed Leslie's Poolmart in Danvers at the time he repeatedly raped a nine-year-old girl.

DANVERS, MA — A Rowley man who pleaded guilty to recording himself repeatedly raping a girl who was eight and nine at the time of the attacks was sentenced to 15 to 18 years in prison by a Salem Superior Court Tuesday.

Darryl Moore, 39, of Rowley, pleaded guilty to 10 counts of child rape with force, 12 counts of indecent assault and battery on a child, eight counts of posing a child in a state of nudity, and disseminating child pornography as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors. Moore, according to court document, drugged and raped the girl, now 11, on multiple occasions then shared videos of those sexual assaults on Tumbler, Kik, Snapchat and other social media platforms.

Moore was the manager of Leslie's Poolmart in Danvers at the time of his arrest. Moore was first identified by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force then relayed that information to Rowley police. Rowley and Danvers police obtained search warants to confirm Moore was sharing video and images of the girl, who he was related to by marriage, on social media.

According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, the girl's mother said she had gone from outgoing and trusting to cautious and shy. "She will always have issues trusting any kind of relationship," the girl's mother said.
