Find Out When You May Come Across An Essex County Sobriety Checkpoint

State Police will conduct the checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Essex County later this month.

DANVERS, MA — Those traveling through Essex County next Friday night are advised of a State Police sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location.

The checkpoint will occur on May 30 into the early hours of May 31.

"The purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public's awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways," said State Police Superintendent Geoffrey Noble.

State Police said the vehicle stops will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured and inconveniences to motorists will be limited to ease fear and anxiety.
