Police Arrest 15-Year-Old Suspect In Danvers High School Fire
The fire in the third-floor men's room closed the school and caused "thousands of dollars" in damage.
DANVERS, MA — A 15-year-old Danvers High School student is facing charges after setting a fire that caused "thousands of dollars in damage" in a third-floor men's room at the school Wednesday morning. Police said the vandalism was an "isolated incident." There were no injuries.
The fire was reported at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday and the building was evacuated to the football field at the school. Students were eventually dismissed for the day as police and fire officials conducted their investigation. No injuries were reported and the school is scheduled to open for a normal school day on Thursday.
"The Danvers Police Criminal Investigation Division is working with the Essex County District Attorney’s Office and criminal charges are pending,"police said in a statement.

Danvers Police Department & Danvers Fire Department are currently investigating a fire that occurred this morning at Danvers High School. All students were evacuated. Out of an abundance of caution, school will be dismissed for the remainder of the day.
