Hear Barbara Walsh Read “Sammy in the Sky” On Zoom Nov. 20 at 4:30 PM

On Sunday, November 20, the Perfect Paws Pet Ministry will offer its annual service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving to pray for and celebrate animals we have loved and lost in 2022. As the perfect preamble, there will be a special author’s reading by Pulitzer Prize Winner Barbara Walsh from her book, “Sammy in the Sky,” her loving ode to her family's beloved pet, Sammy. The story is told by Walsh's daughters as they learn to cope, understand and accept his loss.

The short book boasts beautiful illustrations by internationally known illustrator and painter Jamie Wyeth and has been widely praised.

Barbara Walsh has authored five books, including August Gale: A Father and Daughter’s Journey into the Storm; Rhoda’s Rescue, The Goose Lady, and Sammy in the Sky. A long-time journalist, her 1988 Eagle-Tribune series about the Massachusetts prison system won her a Pulitzer Prize.

Currently, Barbara Walsh writes true stories about special Maine people and pets.
