Latest Danvers Coronavirus Updates: Town Suspends Evictions
Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Danvers.

DANVERS, MA — The new coronavirus outbreak in Massachusetts and across the country is having vast impacts in Danvers. Patch has compiled this round-up of the latest, local coronavirus news.
On Monday, Danvers said it would not enforce evictions and suspend other real estate business for the duration of the coronavirus emergency. Danvers supermarkets and big box stores will be limited to no more than 50 customers in their buildings at any one time after the city enacted an emergency order last week.
Selectmen voted to push the town's annual election to June 2 from May 5 and town meeting to June 15 from May 18 under emergency authority granted by the state last week.

Danvers had 40 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of March 31. Eight of those cases were at a single nursing home. As of Monday, there were 13,837 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Massachusetts. So far, there have been 260 coronavirus deaths in Massachusetts.

Schools across the state will remain closed until at least May 4 and are continuing to send home remote-learning activities for students. State education officials have still not determined whether they will be able to postpone or even cancel MCAS exams.
