MA Coronavirus: Northshore, Liberty Tree Malls Closed

Simon Properties will close all of its malls through at least March 29 to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

PEABODY, MA — The Northshore Mall in Peabody and the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers will close at 7 p.m. Wednesday until at least March 29.

Simon Properties, which owns the two malls, is closing all of its shopping centers in the U.S. in an effort to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus. Other Massachusetts malls that will close Wednesday include Auburn Mall, Burlington Mall, Cape Cod Mall, Copley Place, Emerald Square, Lee Premium Outlets, Solomon Pond Mall, South Shore Plaza, Square One Mall, The Shops at Chestnut Hill and the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets.

Simon said it made the decision after "extensive conversations" with federal, state and local health officials.
